How the Stanford’s LBAN program changed our small business perspective.
Are you curious about the state of Latino entrepreneurs and Latino Owned Businesses in the U.S.? We definitely are! As a small Latino Owned Family business we feel so inspired to see more businesses like ours thrive, whether they are long established or just blossoming. This is why we felt so honored to be a part on the LBAN program in cohort 14 in the fall of 2022.
Through the LBAN program we found a rare gem that introduced us to incredible Latino business owners from all across the U.S. in so many industries, thriving, growing and investing in their communities. Here is why were so excited to continue to be a part of this growing and thriving community.
First of course is the 9th Annual State of Latino Entrepreneurship (SOLE) Summit, where the SLEI research team will reveal findings from their 2023 survey on the state of Latino businesses in the U.S. Past reports have resulted in the discovery that, Latino Owned businesses are starting and growing at a faster pace than their white counterparts. Or the discovery that Latino owned businesses receive smaller or shorter term contracts from large corporations or the government. Discoveries like these are vital to informing business owners on how they can take action and make change in their businesses and their communities. The summit will also have panel discussions and networking opportunities that will expand upon these discoveries.
Another amazing reason we love continuing to be a part of the LBAN community is because of the incredible business owners we have met through the program. One being a good friend of ours Joel Garcia, CEO of All Code. In the tech space there are few Latinos so when we have the honor of meeting another Latino tech entrepreneur were excited to get to know them. Speaking with Joel about running his own technology consulting company has given us new insights into the industry from someone with a similar journey to our own. His business focuses on bringing Cloud consultants with access to AWS, Azure, and GCP solutions to other businesses. All Code’s focus is different than our own but has provided us with such valuable learning experience on a whole other side of our industry. These insights and the partnership we are building is invaluable and very welcome in an industry where there are few Latinos.
Lastly we’ve loved this journey with LBAN because through it we are always learning, about all the new industries Latinos are venturing into, the growth we are experiencing as a demographic, and so much more. As Latino Business owners in the technology sector it has often felt lonely out here. We appreciate more than ever 26 years into our journey to have come upon such an excellent resource that is constantly studying our demographic and connecting business owners to multiply our potential.
We truly hope to see you and your business at the SOLE summit where we will have at table at the Business Expo and will be attending all the other incredibly impactful events. Keep up with us on Linked In, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube.
